"This work is an ongoing exploration of consciousness. As humans we live in a world of polarities. It seems to me as though these apparent opposites are growing more extreme and vocal, whether coming from the natural environment, human culture, or our inner mind states. Clay is the perfect medium for me to process what I'm witnessing. I merge religious iconography, children's stories, myth and personal imagery to create these works. Little or no color is used to simplify and preserve line quality, allowing the radiance of the vitrified clay to illuminate the piece.
The diminutive size keeps the work personal, like a treasure or talisman. Small and quiet, yet potent."
