In 2009 Ann Welles founded Exhibit A as a contemporary gallery based in Corning, NY. EXHIBIT A earned a reputation for presenting superior artworks by artists that demonstrate clarity of vision and distinctive use of materials.
In 2020 Exhibit A left its brick and mortar space after 11 years on Corning's historic Market Street but continues to promote artists of merit, curate exhibitions, develop events, and provide professional services to collectors, businesses, and art venues.
Exhibit A is evolving from a traditional art gallery into a collaborative group of stakeholders focused on optimizing interactions between arts practitioners, audiences, and collectors. We seek to question and assess existing practices and resources, in order to conceptualize new transactional methods, and produce innovative programming models.
