artist, Robin Cass
American, born 1969

Robin Cass is an artist and educator living in Rochester, New York. She is a full professor in the Glass Program at the Rochester Institute of Technology, where she has been a faculty member since 1998. She is currently associate dean of the College of Imaging Arts and Sciences. Cass also served on the board of directors of the Glass Art Society from 2004 through 2010.

Cass earned her BFA at the Rhode Island School of Design and her MFA from Alfred University.  She has been invited to teach glassblowing and exhibit her sculptural work internationally, and has received fellowships and grants from Wheaton Arts, the New York Foundation for the Arts, and the Glass & Ceramic Center of Seto, Japan. In addition to teaching at RIT, Cass has lead workshops at Pilchuck Glass School, Haystack, The Studio at Corning Museum of Glass and elsewhere.
Robin’s work is included in a number of public and private collections including those of the Museum of American Glass in New Jersey, Tacoma Museum of Glass in Washington State, and Tittot Museum in Taipei, Taiwan.  She has also been featured in several books including: “Masters of Blown Glass”, edited by Susan Rossi-Wilcox, “Breaking Ground: Art/Craft in Upstate New York”, by Barbara Lovenheim, and “25 Years of New Glass Review” edited by Tina Oldknow.
